Roosevelt Field is a 204,000-sqm super-regional shopping centre in Garden City, Nassau County, operated by Simon Property Group. One of the largest enclosed malls in the United States by gross leasable area, the property has anchored the central Nassau County retail market since its original 1956 opening and holds the primary retail gateway function for a Long Island metropolitan area of approximately 3 million residents.
The anchor structure is among the deepest of any enclosed mall in the New York metro: Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom span the full range from accessible mass market through ultra-luxury. The luxury boutique circuit covers Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Rolex, and TAG Heuer. The contemporary fashion tier runs through Zara, H and M, Uniqlo, Primark, Aritzia, Urban Outfitters, Free People, and Mango. The Escape Game and AMC multiplex anchor entertainment. Dick’s Sporting Goods, lululemon, Adidas, and JD Sports cover the athletic category. The Capital Grille, Grand Lux Cafe, True Food Kitchen, and Seasons 52 anchor full-service dining.
The Long Island catchment spans Nassau County’s approximately 1.4 million residents and extends into western Suffolk County communities. The surrounding Garden City, Mineola, Hempstead, and Westbury residential stock provides the immediate population base; the Meadowbrook Parkway and Southern State Parkway are the primary car-access corridors. Public transport access is primarily through NICE bus services at the Roosevelt Field bus terminal, with LIRR connectivity via nearby Mineola, Carle Place, and Garden City stations rather than a station directly integrated with the mall.
Within the New York metropolitan retail map, Roosevelt Field is the dominant super-regional mall for Long Island, a market of 3 million people with no competitor of comparable GLA or department store depth within the island. The five-anchor department store configuration combined with a complete luxury circuit and the largest specialty retail concentration on Long Island gives the property a unique position in the northeastern US. That combination gives Roosevelt Field a reach into the Long Island consumer base that no Manhattan or northern New Jersey property can replicate.
Sit-down dining at the property includes Grand Lux Cafe, Maggiano's Little Italy, bartaco, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille and True Food Kitchen. Quick options include Charley's Philly Steak, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Jollibee and Popeyes.
