Samsonite Group is preparing a US dual listing. Shareholders approved the move in March 2026, adding American depositary shares to the company’s existing Hong Kong primary listing under ticker 1910 to broaden investor exposure and improve share liquidity. Founded in 1910 in Denver by Jesse Shwayder, Samsonite is the world’s largest travel luggage company and headquartered in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The brand portfolio includes the namesake Samsonite plus Tumi (acquired in 2016 for $1.8 billion), American Tourister, Gregory, High Sierra, Hartmann, Lipault, and Kamiliant, covering travel and lifestyle bags across price tiers from value to premium luxury.
Tumi is the portfolio’s growth engine. The premium brand celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025 and accounted for 23.4% of group net sales in Q3 2025, up from 22% the year prior, with year-over-year growth across all four operating regions: North America (+3.3%), Latin America (+9.5%), Europe (+6.3%), and Asia (+7.1%). Samsonite Group holds roughly 19% of the global luggage market, the largest share of any single operator. The Samsonite mainline brand sits at the mid-premium tier, American Tourister covers the mass market, and Tumi anchors the premium and business segments. CEO Kyle Gendreau leads the group from the Mansfield headquarters.
The retail footprint mixes directly operated stores, wholesale distribution through specialty luggage retailers and department stores, e-commerce, and travel retail concessions in airports. Tumi’s premium positioning relies more heavily on owned mainline stores and luxury department store concessions, with strategic flagship expansion underway in Asia and Europe. Samsonite mainline and American Tourister lean more wholesale through luggage specialty chains and big-box retailers. For mall operators, the relevant flagship counterparty within the Samsonite Group portfolio is Tumi, which actively seeks A-grade mall and high-street locations. Samsonite’s mainline mall presence is comparatively limited, with most consumer touchpoints in airports, department stores, and online.
