Blanchardstown Centre opened October 16, 1996, in the Blanchardstown and Coolmine suburbs west of Dublin, becoming one of Ireland’s two largest shopping complexes. The property provides 7,000 free parking spaces and sits directly on the M3/N3, just off the M50, with roughly 600 buses serving the centre daily. The adjacent four-star Crowne Plaza hotel gives the property an overnight-stay component unusual among Irish shopping centres of its scale.
That “largest in Ireland” positioning, sustained across nearly three decades and multiple ownership changes from Irish developer to Wall Street investment banks to a specialist European distressed-asset fund, reflects how Blanchardstown’s sheer scale and motorway-adjacent catchment have kept it commercially resilient regardless of which institutional owner held the title at any given time.
