About this mall

Fairview Mall opened in 1970 at 1800 Sheppard Avenue E in the Don Valley Village neighbourhood of North York, Toronto, with approximately 65,400 sqm of gross leasable area and 178 stores, restaurants, and services. The property is co-owned by Cadillac Fairview (50%) and TD Greystone Asset Management funds (50%), with Cadillac Fairview managing it as the leading enclosed regional shopping centre for the Don Mills and Sheppard East corridor.

Sheppard Avenue East is a significant arterial corridor in northeastern Toronto, connecting the Don Valley Pkwy interchange to Scarborough communities. The Fairview Mall area sits at the intersection of the Sheppard and Don Mills transit axes, served by TTC bus routes that connect to the Sheppard-Yonge subway station (Lines 1 and 4) approximately three kilometres west and to the Don Mills Station on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, which when fully operational will provide a direct east-west rapid transit connection through the corridor. The North York residential communities of Don Mills, Don Valley Village, and Flemingdon Park, established middle-income diverse communities with significant Chinese-Canadian and South Asian populations, form the primary catchment. Cineplex Cinemas Fairview Mall and a SilverCity multiplex serve the leisure and entertainment visit. H&M, Sport Chek, Zara, and Marshalls/HomeSense cover the mainstream retail categories. A comprehensive food court and dining circuit serves the diverse community demographic.

The primary catchment zone across the Sheppard East, Don Mills, and Flemingdon Park communities houses approximately 150,000 residents. The Eglinton Crosstown LRT, when complete, will provide the most significant transit upgrade to this corridor since the initial bus network, connecting Fairview Mall’s catchment area to the Eglinton-Yonge intersection and the broader GTA transit network.

Cadillac Fairview manages Fairview Mall as the northeast Toronto community anchor within its Toronto portfolio alongside the Eaton Centre and Sherway Gardens. The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is the expected structural transit upgrade: the new east-west rapid transit line through the corridor will extend the practical transit-accessible catchment for Fairview Mall beyond the current bus-only connections.
