About this mall

Carrefour Laval opened in 1974 at 3003 Boulevard le Carrefour in the commercial heart of Laval, Quebec, with 115,400 sqm of gross leasable area and around 240 retail and service units. The property is owned and managed by Cadillac Fairview as the largest enclosed shopping centre serving Laval and the Laval-Laurentians market.

Laval is Quebec’s third-largest city by population with 450,000 residents, a francophone suburban city built primarily after 1965 on the Island of Jesus north of Montreal, connected to the Island of Montreal by multiple bridge crossings. Montmorency station on the Orange Line Metro sits roughly a 15-minute walk from Carrefour Laval, connecting the mall to the Montreal Metro network and providing transit access from downtown Montreal in approximately 30 minutes. Carrefour Laval was one of six Hudson’s Bay flagship locations the retailer initially sought to keep operating during its 2025 creditor-protection proceedings; by late April 2025, the attempt to save these six stores had failed, and the Carrefour Laval location closed permanently along with the rest of the chain’s roughly 80 Canadian stores by June 1, 2025. Simons, the Quebec-founded department store, remains a current anchor, unaffected by the separate Hudson’s Bay closure; Zara, H&M, Reitmans, lululemon and Apple carry the fashion and electronics inline tenant base, alongside a jewellery tier including Michael Kors, Swarovski and Pandora.

Laval’s population of 450,000 and the Laurentians communities accessible via Highway 15 and Autoroute 25 extend the regional catchment to approximately 600,000+. Boulevard le Carrefour and the Autoroute 15/440 interchange provide the primary vehicular access. The Montmorency Metro station provides the rapid transit connection to the Montreal network.

Cadillac Fairview manages Carrefour Laval as its Montreal-area anchor property distinct from the downtown market served by Montreal’s enclosed mall competitive set. The Metro connection primarily serves Laval residents commuting toward Montreal rather than drawing Montreal Island shoppers outward, though it does extend the mall’s practical catchment somewhat beyond the immediate Laval residential base.
