Palisades Center Mall is a top-end shopping and entertainment mall. It is located 20 miles north of New York City, in West Nyack. The center is well-positioned on the I87 & I287, and offer direct access to Route 59, Route 303 and the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The center can be accessed by a range of transportation methods.
It offers shoppers four levels of stores, including Barnes & Noble, Staples and CVS. There is an ice skating rink, movie theater and many activities for the kids, such as rides, games and miniature golf.
Food options include McDonald’s, Outback Steakhouse and Legal Sea Foods.
This massive 130-acre site was bought by The Pyramid Companies for around $3m with a promise to clean up the two landfills which had been filled with garbage and incinerator ash. The proposal of the mall during 1985 was met with opposition from the locals as they feared an increase in crime, air pollution and an increase in traffic. The ground was finally broken during 1993 at a cost of around $250m.
The mall underwent remodeling during 2013, with proposed designer lighting and glass mosaics, among other attractions.
