Baybrook Mall is the
largest shopping center in the southeastern quadrant of Houston, and
one of the prime shopping, dining and entertainment destinations in
the city. The multi-million dollar outdoor expansion adds more than
30 retailers, 10 restaurants and entertainment and hospitality venues
to the property. The project adds an estimated 555,000 square
feet to the 1.2-million-square-foot center. Work begins in late May
with completion by the 2015 holiday season.
Located on the north
side of Baybrook Mall, the new 285,000-square-foot lifestyle
expansion connects to the existing property between Forever 21 and
Dillard’s. A 270,000-square-foot power center completes the project
with a variety of big-box anchor tenants, restaurants and
family-friendly activity venues. To accommodate the expansion, a
single-story parking deck will be added to the property.
A key component of the
design is a grassy lawn in the heart of the lifestyle expansion. The
lawn, approximately the length of a football field, serves as green
space and a gathering spot for visitor.
