Features mall architecture
Adjacent to the Part-Dieu train station, Lyon's vast indoor shopping centre is dominated by a pencil-shaped tower nicknamed le crayon.
The FRESCO along the internal walk leading to Boulevard Eugène Deruelle depicts the "History of developments in the Part-Dieu area". This 50 m long and 4 m high fresco describes the transitions of the 3rd arrondissement past and present. It is divided into 5 differently-coloured sections: green for the landscaped area (history of the armoured cavalry barracks...), yellow for the cultural and leisure facilities, red for transport, blue for business, with banks and services.
It was created by the Cité de la Création using the chalk technique and was unveiled on the 12th April 2007.
On the 1st floor of the Part-Dieu shopping centre, there's a free, interactive area for children only and a baby changing room with nappies and feeding-bottle heaters on the 1st and 3rd levels.
