French-Dutch company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE will unite six European shopping centers it owns under a single brand.
It has been reported that the renaming will occur in September. At the same time, the following shopping centers will receive a new single name: La Part-Dieu in Lyon, France; La Maquinista and Glories in Barcelona, Spain; Donau Zentrum and Shopping City Süd in Vienna, Austria; as well as CentrO in Oberhausen, Germany.
The renaming is part of the development of the Westfield brand. It will increase brand recognition among consumers from different European countries. The company is not only renaming its existing malls but is also building new ones. In March this year, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield opened a new 117,000-square-meter Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam, the Netherlands. It would be the first Westfield Mall in the country. Another mall with the same name is in London.
Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield CEO Jean-Marie Tritan said Westfield malls located in major cities are significant assets with a rich heritage and potential for growth, ready to offer new opportunities for both visitors and brands, global and emerging.
It was previously reported that Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield had hired a new general manager for customer service, whose tasks will include developing an innovative component and expanding omnichannel services. Particular attention will also be paid to improving delivery services and online ordering.
