Les Galeries de la Capitale

Les Galeries de la Capitale opened in 1981 at 5401 Boulevard des Galeries in the Lebourgneuf neighbourhood of the Les Rivières borough, Quebec City. The enclosed shopping centre has approximately 1,015,000 square feet (94,300 sqm) of space and more than 200 stores, restaurants, and services. Primaris REIT acquired the property from Oxford Properties on October 1, 2024, for $325 million, taking over ownership and management.

The centre combines regional retail with a substantial entertainment component. Méga Parc, an indoor amusement park at the centre of the mall, includes 15 attractions and an indoor skating trail. Cineplex operates an IMAX theatre within the complex. Simons, H&M, and Winners anchor the tenant mix, alongside a large food court and dining circuit.

Quebec City’s CMA population of approximately 839,000 provides the urban and regional base. The centre sits at the intersection of Highways 40, 73, and 740, with over 4,100 feet of frontage along Boulevards Lebourgneuf and des Galeries, and is served by one of the region’s busiest bus terminals. Provincial government employment in Quebec City’s National Assembly and ministries is among the sectors Primaris identifies within its trade area.

Primaris REIT manages Les Galeries de la Capitale as a leading regional enclosed shopping centre in Quebec City, its second-largest asset in the portfolio by sales volume. The indoor skating trail at Méga Parc gives the property an entertainment draw distinct from a conventional department-store-anchored mall.
