The newly-erected Holsten-Galerie in Neumunster has nearly been completed and the topping-out ceremony has been held.
An investment of about €145m is being made for the erection of the shopping center, which will house about 90 retail stores, a food court and service providers. The mall is situated between the Gansemarkt area and the ICE train station. It is due to open its doors during fall. The mall will offer two levels, with around 22800m² of sales area, with 70% already having been leased. It will include about 1400m² of office space, with about 950 parking spaces. Long-term management of the center is managed by ECE.

Anchor tenants are to include Media Markt, Sky supermarket and two large clothing retailers. Other stores include Nordsee, Reformhaus Engelhardt, dm-Drogerie, Mister Lady, Schuhpark Fascies, CCC-Schuhe, Engbers, Tamaris, Only, Jack&Jones, Vero Moda, Douglas, Deichmann and Intersport. There is to be a large modern food court, including nine restaurants with a common seating area available for 300, with a view across the pond and Gansemarkt plaza.
The method of charging rentals on a sliding scale based on profitability within the industry has provided those stores that would not otherwise be able to afford this type of top location, to enter the mall.
Along with the food and retail section, there will be 1400m² for law office, practices and offices. These tailored-to-tenants-needs spaces will have a separate entrance.
