The first permanent store will open on Cat Street in the Harajuku district.
Chinese online retailer Shein will open its first physical store in Tokyo after a string of pop-up store openings. The first permanent store will open on Cat Street in the Harajuku district as early as November 13.
The decision to open followed shortly after the company announced its latest financial results. The fashion giant continues to grow revenues both in the U.S. and other global markets. The company’s capitalization reached $100 billion this year.
In the first physical store Shein will present the latest collections of its favorite brands and will give its clients an opportunity to make purchases by scanning QR codes. However, in order to buy clothes it will be necessary to make an order directly in the application.
The area of the two-level store will be 2,160 square feet. The retail space will include three or so retail spaces, as well as Shein’s Gen-Z favorite photo booth. The space will also be transformable for fashion shows and events.
Earlier, Shein marked the opening of a pop-up store in Osaka – the fashion space will be open for several months, until the end of January. The multistore features about 800 items – men’s and women’s clothing, home goods and even pet collections.
“Shein remains digitally focused. Shein customers can experience our fashion and lifestyle products in our pop-ups around the world. We will continue to expand our pop-up roadmap and continue to make the beauty of fashion accessible to all,” the company commented.
