Redevelopment project has launched to revitalize three-story mixed-use development.
One of Atlanta’s unique and most recognizable transit-oriented centers will see its plaza and retail core reconstructed into an airy, brighter place called “The Hub” by the spring of 2019. The complex comprises six buildings centrally located over the MARTA Peachtree Center Station. Besides the renovations, The Hub will feature a new lineup of restaurants, entertainment experiences, shops and services such as fitness and grocery.
The Beck Group, an Atlanta-based development firm, will improve the 1960s-era development by redesigning the courtyard to accommodate pedestrian foot traffic better, improving all finishes and furnishings, updating lighting to lighten the space and modernizing entrances with glass panels and steel canopies.
Expect a more open interaction with Peachtree Street and updated shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences — all meant to cater to a burgeoning downtown population, among the 6,000 office occupants and guests at 4,000 hotel rooms connected to Peachtree Center via sidewalks and sky bridges.
