Rivetoile

Rivetoile is a regional shopping centre in Strasbourg’s Étoile district, on the banks of the Ill river approximately 2 kilometres south of the city centre. At 33,000 sqm, it was developed in 2008 on former industrial land as part of the Étoile district regeneration programme. The centre serves the southern Strasbourg catchment and the adjacent residential districts of Neudorf, Port du Rhin and Meinau.

E.Leclerc anchors the grocery component. Fashion tenants include H&M, Mango, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Etam, Calzedonia, JACK & JONES, ONLY, Guess, Hollister and Kookaï. JD Sports, Courir and Adidas serve sportswear. Sephora, Kiko Milano and Rituals cover beauty. HEMA provides a department-store format. La Grande Récré serves the children’s and toy segment. Paul and Jeff de Bruges cover food and beverage. Søstrene Grene holds a home and lifestyle position. UGC Ciné Cité operates a cinema in the complex.

The Étoile district is served by several Strasbourg tram stops, including Étoile Bourse, Winston Churchill and Landsberg, connecting Rivetoile to the city centre and the main rail interchange at Strasbourg station. This makes the centre one of the most transit-accessible enclosed malls in Strasbourg outside the city centre scheme at Place des Halles, which serves a different catchment and retail register.

Rivetoile operates as a complementary retail address to Place des Halles. The E.Leclerc anchor and UGC cinema support regular-visit and evening traffic patterns for the southern residential catchment, while the tram access extends reach into the broader city population. The centre’s 33,000 sqm format is sized for its local catchment rather than regional draw; its competitive position is built on transit accessibility and anchor convenience for the Étoile district and surrounding residential areas.
