About this mall

Les Promenades Gatineau opened in 1978 at 1100 Boulevard Maloney Ouest in the Gatineau sector of Gatineau, Quebec, with approximately 80,000 sqm of gross leasable area and approximately 150 retail and service units. The property is co-owned by Oxford Properties Group and Montez Corporation, with Westcliff managing it since 2023 as the leading super-regional shopping centre for the Gatineau side of the National Capital Region.

Gatineau’s position across the Ottawa River from Canada’s capital creates a commercially distinctive context: Gatineau residents benefit from Quebec’s provincial services and tax structure while working in or across from the federal government employment concentration in Ottawa. Les Promenades Gatineau captures this dual positioning, it serves a primarily francophone Quebec population while drawing consumers from the bilingual National Capital Region who cross the interprovincial bridges for the Quebec retail experience and potentially for alcohol pricing and selection available at Quebec’s SAQ network. Gatineau is connected to downtown Ottawa by the Portage Bridge and Macdonald-Cartier Bridge, making Les Promenades accessible from the Ottawa side of the region in roughly 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Hudson’s Bay, Costco, and Simons anchor the property alongside H&M. The food court and dining circuit serve both the Gatineau resident community and the Ottawa-side crossover visitor.

The Gatineau-Hull CMA population of approximately 360,000 on the Quebec side provides the residential base, with the interprovincial draw from Ottawa adding the cross-river catchment. Boulevard Maloney Ouest and the Autoroute 50 provide the primary vehicular access from across the Outaouais region. Société de transport de l’Outaouais bus service connects the mall to the broader Gatineau transit network and to the interprovincial OC Transpo connections at Gatineau terminal.

Westcliff manages Les Promenades Gatineau as the Gatineau anchor within its national portfolio. The interprovincial National Capital Region positioning creates a commercial dynamic unique in the Canadian retail landscape: the property simultaneously serves a Quebec francophone residential catchment and draws cross-river Ottawa consumers who treat Gatineau retail as a bilingual destination with Quebec-specific retail and alcohol purchasing advantages.
