Westfield Forum des Halles is the underground shopping complex at Les Halles in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, directly above one of Europe’s largest and busiest RER and metro interchanges. The original Forum des Halles opened in 1979 on the site of the former central market; a major reconstruction completed in 2016 added a new canopy structure at ground level, and the retail complex below was rebranded under URW’s Westfield portfolio. Monoprix and Naturalia anchor the grocery component.
Zara, Mango, MAC Cosmetics, Muji, Nocibé and Kiko Milano hold the principal branded positions. Carhartt, Onitsuka Tiger and La Droguerie haberdashery hold specialist positions. Darty covers electronics. Foot Locker handles sportswear. Maisons du Monde covers home. Nature & Découvertes covers accessories and lifestyle. Starbucks covers café. La Croissanterie serves bakery. The scheme also contains a significant proportion of independent retailers and specialist operators across music, books, vintage and niche lifestyle categories.
Châtelet–Les Halles station — serving RER lines A, B and D, and Métro lines 4, 11 and 14 — generates among the highest pedestrian flows of any point in France. The site’s transit position means the commercial offer must serve both the immediate 1st arrondissement population and a transit footfall from across the entire Île-de-France.
Muji’s presence — one of a small number of Paris locations — is consistent with the centre’s positioning toward design-oriented and internationally-aware consumers in the central Paris pedestrian zone. Onitsuka Tiger and Carhartt serve the streetwear and workwear segments with specific brand identity that standard fast-fashion brands cannot replicate. Naturalia’s organic food position reflects the growing demand for organic grocery within the central Paris catchment.
