About this mall

Field’s is one of the largest shopping centres in Denmark and Steen & Strøm’s flagship Copenhagen metropolitan asset, opened on March 9, 2004 in the Ørestad business and residential district at the southern edge of central Copenhagen. Designed by Arkitektfirmaet C. F. Møller in collaboration with Evenden and Haskolls, the 115,000-sqm super-regional centre houses approximately 140 stores across three retail levels with around 3,000 parking spaces, anchoring the southern Copenhagen metro retail map between the central Strøget pedestrian axis and the broader southern Sjælland and Øresund cross-border catchments.

The format combines a Bilka hypermarket anchor on the lower level with extensive fashion volume across the retail floors and a substantial dining, family entertainment, and food hall component including a multiplex cinema. International vertical apparel chains, Danish specialty retailers, and accessible-luxury fashion houses populate the tenant lineup, with the depth of contemporary fashion and lifestyle concentration matching the Westfield Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm and the Emporia super-regional in Malmö.

The catchment combines the Copenhagen metropolitan population with substantial cross-border traffic from the Malmö metropolitan area across the Øresund Bridge that connects Denmark and Sweden. The Ørestad metro station immediately adjacent to the property provides direct connectivity from central Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Airport, with the Swedish demographic adding a substantial weekend retail layer to the Danish residential demand that smaller Copenhagen centres cannot reach.

Within Steen & Strøm’s Nordic portfolio, Field’s is one of the largest single assets across the Klepierre-APG joint venture structure and the operator’s principal Copenhagen flagship. The 2004 opening positioned the asset as the dominant southern Copenhagen super-regional and a primary Øresund cross-border destination alongside the operator’s Rødovre Centrum and Lyngby Storcenter properties that anchor the western and northern Copenhagen metro.
