About this mall

City Center Doha opened in 2001 in the West Bay business district as one of Qatar’s first shopping malls, at a time when the country had only one earlier mall to compare it against. Aamal Company, a publicly listed Qatari holding company, owns the property and manages it in part through the Aamal-ECE joint venture.

The mall’s position as an early mover has meant repeated reinvestment to stay competitive against newer Doha malls built with more contemporary formats: a QAR 300 million renovation in 2015 reworked internal circulation and expanded anchor tenant space, and a 2021 project marking the mall’s 20th anniversary added Soho Square, an open-air dining and fountain plaza, plus more than 50 additional retail outlets.

At roughly 120,000 sqm of gross leasable area across five levels, City Center Doha now houses over 250 stores, alongside a cinema, ice rink and direct walkway connections to the Marriott Marquis, Rotana and Grand Murwab hotels next door, a hospitality-linked catchment that predates most of Doha’s newer malls.

H&M, Mango and Tommy Hilfiger carry the fashion floor, with Nike, Adidas and Under Armour running sports, a mid-market-to-premium mix that has let City Center hold its position as one of Doha’s most-visited malls even as Villaggio, Mall of Qatar and Doha Festival City have opened with larger footprints since.
