The two-level retail space will be in the upscale MixC Haikou mall.

French luxury goods manufacturer Louis Vuitton (part of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) is opening its first flagship store on the Chinese island of Hainan. The two-level retail space will be in the upscale MixC Haikou mall, a duty-free zone attracting worldwide tourists.
Previously, the MixC Haikou page on the Xiaohongshu website published a “Hello @Louis Vuitton” post accompanied by an image of the two-story flagship store and one of the brand’s latest advertising campaigns filmed in Chile.
MixC Haikou, a new player in Hainan’s high-end mall market, opened last June in downtown Haikou. The mall was conceptualized, created and filled by Hong Kong-based giant China Resources Land.
With the opening of the new flagship, Louis Vuitton is attempting to gain a foothold in the promising Hainan market. Chinese authorities plan to create an independent customs system on the famous island by 2025 to ensure shoppers worldwide can buy luxury goods tax-free.
Louis Vuitton has already celebrated the opening of stores in Fuzhou, Guiyang and Nanning, China, in 2022. At the same time, the brand is expanding with the launch of new flagships in Shanghai (in Plaza 66) and Beijing (SKP).
