KING CROSS Zagreb, a famous retail mall in Croatia’s capital, has completed the first phase of its ambitious redevelopment project.
SES Spar European Shopping Centers (SES), the mall’s owner and operator, launched a fully restored area on February 27, marking a key milestone in the continuing EUR 40 million redevelopment, which is expected to be completed by the autumn of 2025.
The redevelopment includes cutting-edge retail premises for new anchor tenants Müller Drogerie, fashion shop Sinsay, and Croatia’s largest and most creative Decathlon flagship store. Decathlon’s innovative design, which features straightforward navigation and an enhanced customer journey, is ready to set new regional retail benchmarks. Furthermore, famous sports businesses R-GOL, Polleo Sport, and Sports Vision have increased their presence at KING CROSS, resulting in a specialized sports hub.
SES CEO Christoph Andexlinger highlights the objective for the massive renovation: “Our goal is to build sustainable, dynamic areas where people want to spend time. ” The fresh, modern aesthetic and improved infrastructure will significantly improve the visitor experience.”
This phase will also contain new technological facilities and refurbished parking infrastructure, ensuring comfort and simplicity of access. A new southern entrance complements the current northern entrance, allowing guests easy access to all retail shops. More than half of the total parking area has been updated to create roomy, customer-friendly parking spots.
The mall’s redevelopment will include a distinct gastronomy zone and a bustling central plaza, which will serve as Zagreb’s future social and communal center.
European retail and real estate specialists view KING CROSS Zagreb’s restoration as a prime example of wise investment in mall refurbishment. This transition demonstrates the crucial necessity of customer-centric design, which incorporates advanced retail ideas and environmental concerns to satisfy changing consumer expectations and strengthen competitive positioning in Europe’s retail market.
KING CROSS Zagreb, which opened in 2002 and has been managed by SES since 2018, continues to grow, cementing its position as a significant retail destination in the region.
