IKEA introduced a gallery of backgrounds for video calls that are becoming increasingly popular when working from home.
One of the features of the Zoom video conferencing application, which is now at its peak in popularity, is the ability to put a beautiful background on virtual communication. It is very convenient, for example, if you want your interlocutor not to see the environment of the room from which the call is made. Now you have the opportunity to “decorate” the apartment, using ideas from a famous Swedish manufacturer.
A unique feature of IKEA Russia backgrounds is that they include images from the design projects of companies’ online platforms, designed to decorate apartments. This project was launched in 2019, and it offers users to decorate their apartments according to the design project.
“Apartmentteka” includes ideas for a variety of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments built in the period from the 1960s to 2000s on standard projects. The user must have the opportunity to assess the situation from different angles – “stand” at the door, “sit” on the couch, etc. You can download your favorite project together with a list of its components, which are then available for purchase in the nearest IKEA store.
Now it is possible to use some of these designs for video calls. The IKEA gallery is already available for free download on the Facebook page. The company expects the backgrounds to be so loved by users that they will later want to make them real.
Only ten backgrounds are available so far, but the number will likely increase over time.
