Under the new restrictions, all cinemas and entertainment centers will be closed within two weeks.
Hong Kong authorities have announced new restrictions on the spread of the fourth wave of the virus. Local news agencies said the measures would go on for two weeks without renewal and remain in force until December 16, 2020.
The Hong Kong government announced it needed new business and citizen security measures to prevent a wider spread of the virus and reduce infections. The authorities have expressed concern about the growing momentum, including unrelated cases.
As part of the new restrictions, all movie theaters and entertainment centers, game parks, museums will be closed within two weeks in Hong Kong. The authorities made an exception only for concert venues, allowing them to play without spectators.
According to the Hong Kong Department of Health, since the beginning of the week, the number of infections has increased from 76 to 90 per day. Specialists have not yet been able to trace the source of the new distribution.
Hong Kong residents who returned from other countries were among those infected with the virus. More than twenty cases in the department were linked to dance parties in the city. The government notes that if the number of potential contacts is not reduced, the fourth wave’s situation may get out of control.
