Luxury fashion label Supreme confirms its plans to enter the South Korean market.
Luxury fashion label Supreme confirms its plans to enter the South Korean market and open its first store in Seoul. The New York-based brand plans to open its first mono store in the Gangnam area in the summer of 2023.
The possibility of Supreme’s expansion into South Korea first became known last September. The brand’s parent company, VF Corporation, later applied for trademark registration in the country, though regulators ultimately rejected it. South Korea already has its Supreme, and the American brand has long been looking to overcome its resistance.
The first store, the 15th in the global chain, will soon open in the country. In addition to the U.S., Supreme currently operates in Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain, and Japan.
The day before, it also became known that the brand would open its new store in West Hollywood. Supreme has published a teaser video on its page on social networks with a branded helicopter, which flies around the hills with the inscription Hollywood.
The brand closed its Fairfax store in early February after 19 years in business. The mono store in West Hollywood is expected to open before the end of the month. The retailer is already renovating the building where Tower Records used to be located.
