French grocery retailer Auchan (part of Auchan Group) has been operating in the Russian market since 2002. Today, it holds one of the leading positions, being among top 3 biggest companies in the grocery retail market.

As of today, the company manages 79 stores – 53 traditional hypermarkets, 21 compact hypermarkets of the Auchan City format, 5 Nasha Raduga hypermarkets. The network operates in Moscow and Moscow Region, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Rostov on Don, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Krasnodar, Ufa and Saint Petersburg. 

The Auchan hypermarkets retail their products in different price segments, mostly targeting the consumers of the middle class. Auchan has its brand names of the the low-end category, as well as its cookery.
