Central Retail opens Robinson Lifestyle department store in Phuket

Central Retail announced the opening of Robinson Lifestyle shopping center and Chalong department store in Phuket province in Thailand. The investment in the project amounted to approximately $35 million. The company invested in the shopping center in Phuket given the province's status as a tourist hub and the country's record GDP from tourism.

"Chalong is one of the strategically important locations in Phuket. Being the commercial center of the bay, having Chalong Port and many tourist attractions, Chalong has become a popular tourist destination," commented Philippe Broyanigo, executive director of real estate and business development at Robinson Lifestyle under Central Retail.

Central Retail emphasized that the new Robinson Lifestyle department store is "more than just a lifestyle-oriented shopping center."The new project is designed to provide "a better quality of life socio-economically and environmentally in a sustainable manner".

The mall is designed as a Retailtainment project, combining the retail component with a "Carnival Village" of more than 43 thousand square meters. In Robinson's portfolio, this is the 28th department store in Thailand with locations in 25 provinces across the country.
