Foodie Alert: Here’s an amazing destination that you can add to your bucket list. Eataly is opening up a massive food theme park in Bologna, Italy this November, and it sounds like it will be nothing short of spectacular. It’s opening up on November 15, and it’s being dubbed as the “world’s largest agri-food park.” As Eater shares, the $106 million project will span a mind-boggling 20 acres.
Fico Eataly World will feature 40 restaurants and refreshment stations, 40 farming factories that will allow visitors to get a firsthand look at how products are processed, six ‘educational rides,’ and daily classes and events for guests to partake in.
“From field to fork, FICO Eataly World will invite visitors to learn about — and experience! — the behind-the-scenes creation of Italian food and drink. We want you to think about everything you eat, which affects the producers, environment, and beyond,” according to Eataly’s website. “At Eataly, each forkful of pasta has a story: farmers cultivated grains, millers ground flour, pastai (pasta makers) shaped dough, distributors delivered it to Eataly, and our chefs cooked the pasta to perfection and paired it with seasonal sauce before we drop it at your table. (Don’t even get us started on the story of the sauce.)
There is no cover charge to enter, and guests have the option of traveling through the site via bicycle or tagging along with Fico biodiversity ambassadors. No matter how you make your way around this sprawling theme park, there will be more than enough to keep you occupied for s long as you wish to stay.

“Covering 20 acres, FICO Eataly World will open in partnership with more than 2,000 companies that will Italian food and drink in all of its regional biodiversity. In Italy, each of the 20 regions boasts a unique cuisine that draws on the local terrain, traditions, and culture,” Eataly adds. “Just as Americans appreciate peaches from Georgia and oranges from California, Italians seek saffron from Umbria and pasta made in Campania. The most authentic products can often only be found in certain areas.”
Eataly has stores located in New York City, Boston, and Chicago, and they have been a massive hit in every market they have entered thus far. We can expect the same for Fico Eataly World, so be sure to add this one to your to bucket list.
