Plaza Hollywood (荷里活廣場)

Wharf Holdings and Wheelock built Plaza Hollywood on the former site of Tai Hom Village, once the largest squatter settlement in Kowloon, clearing it in the mid-1990s to make way for the Galaxia residential estate the mall anchors. Plaza Hollywood opened in 1997 with a Hollywood theme running through its design, from the central Stars Atrium to film-motif interiors.

The atrium functions as a programmed entertainment venue rather than passive circulation space, hosting promotional events, exhibitions and a large LED screen used for concerts and brand launches. A Broadway circuit cinema and more than 220 shops across four levels round out the entertainment-first positioning.

Chow Tai Fook, Uniqlo and Levi’s carry the fashion and jewelry floors, while a large supermarket handles daily-needs shopping for the surrounding estate. Multi-brand fashion boutiques concentrate on level one, where the largest fashion and jewelry tenants sit.

Diamond Hill MTR station connects directly into the mall, and Plaza Hollywood sits within walking distance of Chi Lin Nunnery, Nan Lian Garden and the Wong Tai Sin Temple, three of Kowloon’s most-visited cultural sites. That combination, transit access plus adjacent tourism, gives the mall a visitor base that extends beyond the Galaxia estate it was built to serve.
