New Hampshire’s complete absence of state sales tax on all goods, including apparel and luxury accessories, converts every retail transaction at Merrimack Premium Outlets into a price advantage over the Massachusetts-border consumer that no outlet pricing strategy alone can replicate. The 409,000 square foot property in Merrimack, on the F.E. Everett Turnpike corridor, positions Simon Property Group’s outlet format at the boundary between the greater Manchester, New Hampshire residential catchment to the north and the northern Massachusetts and Lowell corridor to the south, drawing a consumer for whom the combination of outlet pricing and full sales tax exemption produces a meaningful effective discount relative to any Massachusetts outlet or full-price alternative.
The accessible luxury outlet tier runs BOSS, Coach, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Polo Ralph Lauren. Theory and Tory Burch serve the premium contemporary American fashion category at outlet price points. Vineyard Vines and The Black Dog confirm the New England coastal and preppy lifestyle affinity that the southern New Hampshire and Merrimack Valley consumer sustains year-round. The fashion register covers the full premium contemporary and mid-market American brand range: Ann Taylor, Banana Republic Factory, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, Gap, J. Crew, Levi’s, LOFT, Lucky Brand, Nautica, Old Navy, Talbots, Tommy Hilfiger, and UGG fill the comparison outlet floor. Adidas, ASICS, Columbia, Merrell, New Balance, Nike, Puma, Skechers, Under Armour, and Zumiez provide the full sportswear outlet register.
For expansion teams evaluating the New Hampshire and Merrimack Valley outlet market, Merrimack Premium Outlets occupies a trade area position where the NH sales tax exemption structurally differentiates the property from every Massachusetts outlet competitor including Wrentham Village to the southeast. The combination of outlet pricing, full NH sales tax exemption, and the F.E. Everett Turnpike access from the Manchester-Nashua-Lowell population corridor produces an effective value proposition that no single Massachusetts outlet property can neutralize through brand selection or discount depth alone.
