Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights closed in July 2024. Owner Lionheart Capital is planning Lakeside City Center, a mixed-use redevelopment of the 110-acre site.
Taubman-designed Lakeside Mall was located in the northeastern Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights just off M-59. Lakeside Mall was anchored by J.C. Penney, Lord & Taylor, two Macy’s stores, and a Sears. At its peak the dual-level mall had 150 stores.
Entertainment and dining options included a children’s activity center and carousel, Coffee Bean Plus, Kerby’s Coney Island, Macy’s Grill, Olga’s Kitchen, Panera Bread, and an extensive upper level food court.
