The country has made significant progress in the fight against the epidemic, and the current situation makes it possible to open stores.
According to Bloomberg Publishing House, Apple Store, located in Seoul, will soon resume its activities. Last month the company already reopened all its 42 stores located in mainland China. Now it’s time for neighboring countries as well.
South Korea has shown significant progress in the fight against coronavirus, said Apple. With a population of over 51 million, the country has just over 10,500 confirmed cases and 229 deaths, according to a report it received from the company.
However, the store will work with some reservations for now. In particular, its working hours will be reduced, and more attention will be paid to user support rather than sales. At the same time, Apple encourages users to continue to prefer online shopping over physical shopping.
The company previously reported that it is considering gradually opening stores in the United States as the situation improves. But no plans have been presented yet. At a virtual meeting with Apple’s corporate staff Thursday, April 16, CEO Tim Cook said the company’s management does not yet know when employees will be able to return to their offices. But when that becomes possible, all possible social distancing and prevention measures, such as temperature measurements, are likely to be in place.
