The Spanish Inditex Group’s Zara brand is expanding its Pre-Owned program to 14 new countries. The launch of the service is scheduled for December 12, 2023.
Zara has been interested in the fast-growing second-hand clothing market for a number of years, investing in its own pre-owned services.
With the launch of the Pre-Owned service, the fashion brand allows its customers to also sell, donate or refurbish and repair old items.

The service was launched in test mode in the UK last year and debuted in the French market in September 2023. According to the new announcement, the Zara Pre-Owned service will also launch in Germany, Spain, Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg and Portugal.
Zara Pre-Owned functions through a platform-based model wherein users upload images of Zara products they wish to sell. Once a customer registers, they dispatch the items directly. The retailer enhances the images with supplementary details about the clothing. Additionally, customers have the option to exclusively repair Zara garments or choose to donate them to the Red Cross.
The 'Pre-Owned' platform will help extend garment lifecycles and reduce waste.
