Wal-Mart shake-up results in the appointment of 13 merchandising executives

Scott Huff is to become executive vice president, responsible for US merchandising. He joined the company as an intern during 1994, Bloomberg says.

The reshuffling comes after a new Walmart.com chief was appointed earlier this month and the Canadian CEO, Shelley Broader, was promoted to a new post responsible for Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. The group announced during April that CEO of its Chinese unit, Greg Foran, will become the CEO and president of Asia. He replaces Scott Price, who will move to the company’s head office in Arkansas.

Michelle Glockler is filling the post as executive vice president of consumables and US manufacturing. John Aden, who was responsible for merchandising is set to become the executive vice president of US sales innovation.

Since being appointed CEO, Doug McMillon, has placed focus on reviving US growth. Earnings per share was projected at $1.28, but will reach $1.15 to $1.25. Company shares have declined 3.7% this year. At the close in New York, its stock gained 0.1% to reach $75.79.
