It was built in 1972 and was renovated in the 1990s, and originally anchored by four major department stores, The Broadway, Buffum's, JCPenney, and Sears. In 1991 Buffum's closed, the store was coverted, into what is now the upstairs food court. The food court which opened in 1994, is the only part of the general mall to be on the second level. The Broadway became a Macy's in 1996. The mall has nearly 120 other stores, kiosks, and surrounding (on-property) stores ranging from baby apparel to fine jewelry.
The mall is owned by Simon Property Group, the largest mall owner and manager in the United States.
