Tesla to build a movie theater and eatery in Los Angeles

A major new Supercharger station is coming soon to Santa Monica.

Tesla has received permission to build its first movie theater and cafe in Los Angeles. On the eve it became known that the city’s Department of Building and Safety gave the go-ahead for the new project.

Elon Musk announced the project in 2021, saying Santa Monica would be home to a “50s diner and a top-100 movie.” “A major new Supercharger station is coming soon to Santa Monica! I hope it also features a 50’s diner and a top 100 movie. Thanks to the City of Santa Monica!”, the post reads.

It is known that the new complex will be built on Santa Monica Boulevard and will include 32 Supercharger stations, as well as various restaurants, rooftop seating and two movie theaters. The Supercharger can charge a Tesla car for a 200-mile trip in just 15 minutes.

The patent application was filed in November 2022 and the project plan was approved this summer. The first image of the future movie theater with a snack bar was released at Tesla’s investor day. There is no word yet on when the center will be completed.
