Pepco Poland sp. z o.o. is owned by Pepkor Holdings (Proprietary) Limited, one of the most influential companies in South Africa regarding share capital. Pepkor has been running retail discount sales since 1965. Today Pepkor operates in 12 countries spread out over Africa, Asia, and Europe and manages seven retail chains under various labels (e.g. Pepco, PEP, Ackerman, Best&Less, Dunns, Shoe City and John Craig). In total, the company has 2,800 stores and employs 27,000 people.
Pepco Poland sp. z o.o. sell clothes for the whole family: fashionable clothes and accessories for everyday wear to beautiful feminine lingerie for women, comfortable casual clothing for men, a wide range of stylish, comfortable clothes for children. In their stores, you can also find products for the home such as cushions, curtains, cutlery, crockery, stationery products for children such as copybooks, pens and pencils, drawing pads, and also seasonal goods and toys.
PEPCO Polska started operating in Poland in 2004, with 14 Stores located in several large Polish cities including Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Gdańsk. Today Pepco has 550 stores in Poland and is Pepkor’s first significant investment in continental Europe. Its business model focuses on offering cash-based discounts on clothing and houseware items to the lower income middle class segment of the market in small to medium-sized towns across Poland. In April 2014 company had 27 stores in Slovakia.
