About Napapijri

Napapijri is the Italian outdoor and casualwear brand owned by VF Corporation, the New York-listed apparel conglomerate that also controls The North Face, Timberland, Vans, Eastpak, Kipling, Dickies, Smartwool, and other outdoor and lifestyle brands. VF Corporation acquired Napapijri in 2004 and has held the brand within its International Outdoor portfolio since.

Founded in 1987 in Aosta, Italy, by Giuliana Rosset, Napapijri took its name from the Finnish word for the Arctic Circle and built an aesthetic combining Italian design sensibility with outdoor functionality and Northern European exploration motifs. The signature “Skidoo” pullover anorak became a defining product, alongside the Norwegian-flag rectangle motif that has remained the brand’s primary visual mark. The brand operates in the premium-outdoor segment positioned above mass-market outerwear and below technical mountaineering specialists such as Arc’teryx or Patagonia. VF Corporation reported total revenue of approximately $10.5 billion in fiscal year 2024 (ended March 2024), with the broader International Outdoor segment including Napapijri and Eastpak. Napapijri continued its sustainability strategy under VF including the “Make It Better” collection, the rental-and-resale ReCircle program, and progress on its certified recycled and regenerated polyester sourcing. The brand suspended Russian operations in 2022.
