Baybrook Mall of Friendswood, Texas has plans to expand another 26 477 square meters by the Holiday season of 2015.
The mall announced it’s plans to break ground on an outdoor expansion featuring more than 30 additional retailers, 10 restaurants, and entertainment areas such as the newly proposed grassy lawn, at the center of the build-out.
Colin Moussa, the marketing manager for the mall, sees the grassy section as a space for people to gather on benches and seats, allow the kids to run and play, and attend events the mall plans to hold.
This project is a collaborated effort between General Growth Properties, Inc and the landowner which is a CDC Houston-managed entity. These efforts are expected to hold a great impact on the economic growth in the Houston area. This new expansion, located at the North side of the mall between Forever 21 and Dillard’s, will bring Baybrook Mall up to 51 561 square meters of retailers, family friendly restaurants, and locations for family activities.
In order to accommodate such an expansion the mall has plans to build a single story parking deck for ease of vehicle and foot traffic.
