Beginning September 25, Port Baku Mall, the most luxurious shopping mall in Baku, opened its doors to its first visitors.
Port Baku Mall opened on September 25, 2014, positioned at the premium end of Baku’s retail market with a tenant roster built around luxury fashion and international food and beverage operators.
The centre spans 32,000 sqm across three levels, with parking for 1,500 cars. The first two floors are given to fashion, while the third combines children’s wear with restaurants, a layout that places dwell-time dining above the higher-footfall apparel floors.
The food and beverage roster carries the positioning: Ladurée, Paul, Dalloyau, Armani Café, The House Café and Baccanale, alongside the Port Bazar supermarket. The concentration of recognised European patisserie and café brands points to a centre aimed at an affluent, destination-oriented catchment rather than everyday convenience.
For an emerging Caspian retail market, the format reads as an attempt to bring a Gulf-style luxury mall model into Azerbaijan, on the bet that Baku’s high-income segment will support international premium tenants under one enclosed roof.
