MAPIC Awards 2019 Finalists Announced

Candidates for prestigious awards include Intu Costa del Sol (Spain), Central Phuket (Thailand) and FICO Eataly World (Italy).

The jury of the MAPIC Awards, which consists of leading experts in the field in retail and commercial real estate, has officially presented a list of 40 finalists applying for this year’s awards. 

According to the rules, the winners in each category will be selected by both MAPIC delegates voting in Cannes for the projects of their choice and the jury. The winners will be chosen by combining the votes of MAPIC delegates (30%) and the jury’s votes (70%). The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes on November 14.

The best shopping center: 

Central Phuket (Thailand), Cloche d’Or (Luxembourg), Funan (Singapore), ICONSIAM (Thailand).

Best outlet: 

Freeport Lisboa Fashion Outlet (Portugal), Outlet Village Pulkovo (Russia), Torino Outlet Village (Italy).

Best reconception: 

City Plaza (Germany), Cordusio District (Italy), Galleria Tbilisi (Georgia).

The most futuristic mall in the world: 

Cherrywood Town Centre (Ireland), Hongkong Land’s Yorkville – The Ring (China), Intu Costa del Sol (Spain)

The best food&beverages concept:

Avobar, Boxpark Wembley (both UK), FICO Eataly World (Italy), IKEA Café in Mega Parnass shopping mall (Russia), Le Café Alain Ducasse (France), Restaurant sander (Germany), Tiare Chef Lab (Italy).

Best international expansion in retail:

Madame Coco (Turkey), Matalan (UK), Niu Flagship Italia (Italy). 

Best retail concept:

FICO Eataly World (Italy), NomadX (Singapore), Nous épiceries anti-gaspi (France), Peloton (UK).

Best shop design: 

Golden Apple (Moscow), GrandOptical Champs Elysées (Paris), Manufactum (Vienna), Microsoft (London)

The best entertainment concept:

Arkose (France), Citywave (Germany), HauntU – Immersive Horror Experience (Malaysia), ParadropVR City Flyer (Thailand). 

The best innovations in retail: 

Bonprix fashion connect store (Germany), Connect by Mallcomm (UK), Digital Mall LIVAT (China), Wishibam For Business (France).
