Spanish fashion brand Mango, which presented its flagship in New York last year, has opened its first store in Canada. The outlet appeared in Toronto, Ontario. The retailer’s immediate plans include launching new stores in other Canadian cities.
The first mono store of the Spanish fashion giant, one of Zara’s main competitors, occupies about 11,000 square feet in the Yorkdale Mall, across from Hudson’s Bay and Harry Rosen.
Mango announced its expansion into Canada in 2022. The company’s development partner in the country is Israel’s Fox Group. A total of six stores will open in Toronto and at least 20 across the country by 2030.
Mango has also launched its online store for the Canadian market. In addition, the brand will appear in sections of Hudson’s Bay department stores, although the range of items presented will be limited.
Mango’s growth strategy also encompasses 15 new boutiques in Italy this year.
Mango will focus on expanding its footprint in key areas such as London and Scotland.
By 2024, Mango expects to open about 40 stores in the country.
