Inspired by the traditional urban bazaars of Persia, West Edmonton Mall combine shopping and entertainment in a 5.3 million square foot space. West Edmonton Mall is the size of a small city. Annually, almost 31 million visit, making West Edmonton Mall Alberta’s number-one tourist attraction.

Developed by the Triple Five Corporation, owned by the Ghermezian family of Edmonton and designed by Maurice Sunderland Architects Inc. West Edmonton Mall has expanded over 4 phases, from 1981 to 1998.

A clear-span glazed dome roof of 400 x 100 feet, carried on 2-foot-deep steel-plated curved roof beams.
