The Thier-Galerie in central Dortmund is one of the largest inner-city shopping centres in Germany. The mall was opened in 2011.
On the site of the former Thier brewery in Dortmund the Hamburg-based ECE has developed and implemented a new inner-city shopping center with a sales area of approximately 33,000 square meters and room for about 150 shops and restaurants. 5,000 square meters of office space and approximately 730 parking spaces are also part of the concept. A rather attractive place, the Thier Galerie shopping mall also offers culinary delights in their Apollinaris Food Lounge as well as many events throughout the year.
The animal-gallery is located in the southwest of the city center and has a connection to the upper part of the “Westenhellweg”. Those who want to spend one day in a place for shopping, eating and something to drink are in good hands in the Thier-Galerie.
The shopping center is located in the heart of the City of Dortmund.
The four-story ‘house within the house’ ensures a special spatial experience in the glass-roofed interior. Eye-catcher and main entrance portal at Dortmund’s Westenhellweg boulevard is the reconstructed Gründerzeit façade of a former trading house.
Saving energy in Thier-Galerie is supported by natural ventilation of the mall. Furthermore, the center has a special energy concept with dynamic light control. Latest-generation illuminants and certified green electricity additionally contribute to the climate protection.
