It is the youngest of the four “dale” shopping centers circling the Twin Cities, originally developed by The Dayton Co. The others are Southdale Center, Rosedale Center, and Brookdale Center.
Ridgedale’s Macy’s store offers the largest “Oval Room” (designer area) among Twin Cities suburban stores and is often the first store in the market to receive new, exclusive items. Ridgedale Center’s lineup of merchants also includes Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor Loft, Apple, bebe, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Coach, Coldwater Creek, Hollister Co., White House Black Market and others.
Ridgedale Center has undergone a renovation, including new carpet, tile, paint, fixtures and restrooms, finished in the fall of 2007. On November 30, 2007, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Nordstrom has signed a letter of intent to open a two-story store in Ridgedale to be completed in the fall of 2011. The exact location of this store is to be determined, as Macy’s has announced that they have not agreed to give up either of their two anchor stores currently in the complex, although Nordstrom had initially said that they would be taking one of the two spaces.
