The plans presented cover a five-year development period for The North Face’s retail business.
American outdoor brand The North Face, specializing in the production of outdoor clothing, footwear, and related equipment, plans to open more than 70 stores in North America, as well as up to 300 outlets in various formats in international markets.
Specifically, the company plans store openings in London’s Battersea; Garmisch, Germany; Minnetonka, Minnesota; Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Indianapolis, Indiana; and other locations in the coming years.
The plans presented cover a five-year development period for The North Face’s retail business. The new stores will open in a format that will allow them to be transformed into an event area as well as test multi-channel retail services.
For The North Face, this isn’t the first brick-and-mortar store expansion in recent memory. In 2019, for example, the company announced the launch of an 8,000-square-foot pilot store in New York City and said it intends to renovate most retail locations by 2024.
Since early 2022, The North Face has already expanded its global presence through a series of franchise store openings in the U.S., Germany and China.
“As consumers want to engage with The North Face physically as well as digitally, we want to create consistent and welcoming experiences across all our retail locations for both new and established explorers,” said Jason Thomas, The North Face’s senior director of retail.
