 In 2006, plans were announced for a $30 million renovation and expansion. The mall hosted a farmers’ market in 2004. The mall’s anchor stores are JCPenney and Younkers, with a third anchor (Sears) having announced its closure in late 2008.
A rival mall is planned for the area of East 13th Street and Interstate 35 in Ames.
