Bower Place is the regional shopping centre serving Red Deer and central Alberta, at 4900 Molly Bannister Drive in the city’s southern retail district. The centre opened in 1981 and took its present form through a $55 million redevelopment carried out between September 2004 and August 2009, followed by two later reconfigurations: the former Target Canada space reopened in December 2019, and the former Sears space was taken by Motion Fitness in 2022 and Ardene in 2023. The property holds roughly 62,000 sqm of leasable area across about 135 retail and service units and is managed by QuadReal Property Group.
Marshalls, H&M, Shoppers Drug Mart and Sunterra Market hold the anchor positions. The fashion register runs from lululemon, Sephora, American Eagle, Ardene, Bluenotes and Ricki’s through Boathouse, PSEUDIO and Suzanne’s, with jewellery from Peoples Jewellers, Michael Hill, Ben Moss and Paris Jewellers. The food court assembles A&W, Edo Japan, Jollibee, Manchu Wok, New York Fries, Subway, TacoTime, Thai Express and Umi Sushi Express alongside Starbucks, Jugo Juice and Purdys Chocolatier. Services cover BMO, Canada Post, several optical and eye care practices, Motion Fitness, Chatters and Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop.
The catchment combines about 120,000 Red Deer residents with regional draw from Lacombe, Sylvan Lake, Innisfail, Ponoka and the surrounding agricultural communities between Calgary and Edmonton. The centre sits on the Highway 2 corridor at the midpoint between the two cities, with local access from Gaetz Avenue (50 Avenue) and 32 Street, and service by the Red Deer Transit network.

Within the Canadian retail map Bower Place works as the enclosed regional destination for central Alberta, with no other enclosed regional centre inside roughly 150 kilometres, giving it a draw of about 400,000 residents across Red Deer and the smaller communities of the corridor.
