Construction of the $100 million Tanger Factory Outlet in Daytona Beach may start this summer
The new outlet mall in the works for Daytona can open by summer 2016, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
The outlet mall, which will be located near LPGA Boulevard, gets in the way. Daytona Beach city commissioners approved four measures aimed to move the Tanger Factory Outlet Centers project forward.
Commissioners rezoned the 400,000-square-foot outlet mall, permitted an electronic message sign for the property and began the groundwork for creating a special area for the outlet mall, which will allow it to raise $16 million to be used on infrastructure and basic needs of the property. The provisions will get a final vote in early June.
The prospective outlet mall is part of a larger development for that piece of Daytona Beach. The outlet mall will be located near a planned Sam’s Club, a 200-room hotel, residential units, a grocery store and other retail. The concept for all the projects called Tomoka Town Center, a 209-acre development.
