The masks from a Japanese fashion manufacturer went on sale on June 19 and sold out in just a few hours.

Uniqlo company introduced protective masks made of the high-tech material AIRism Products using this material, which the company developed to absorb moisture, free air, and be comfortable to wear. It is made of trendy models of underwear, which are silky to the touch, “breathing” and absorbing odors.
The choice of AIRism for the production of masks was obvious. Still, for a long time, Uniqlo has declared that it will not produce them, contributing to the fight against coronavirus infection by other means. Back in April, Uniqlo’s head Tadashi Yanai made it clear that the company’s production and sales of protective masks were not being considered, and that Uniqlo would instead produce clothing for the fight against the pandemic than masks.
In the end, however, the manufacturer changed its decision. This was because Uniqlo faced an unprecedented flow of customer requests. The company’s customer service centers, phone lines, email, social networks, and even regular mail channels were overwhelmed with mask requests. Some people also made their masks from AIRism and posted their photos in them on social networking sites.
Given that Uniqlo is one of the most popular brands in Japan, the number of requests from customers was simply enormous. As a result, the company switched to the production and started producing new products for themselves. And without a doubt, the first batch of masks presented on the shelves on June 19 was swept away by customers who were lining up to open stores across Japan.
