Apple has announced it is closing retail stores in several U.S. states again, due to an increase in coronavirus patients.
Apple declared that it is closing 11 of its stores in the U.S., located in Arizona, Florida, and North and South Carolina (these states reported a sharp increase in patients in June). The company was forced to decide due to the increase in the spread of the coronavirus in these states. According to a representative of the brand, this is a forced “precaution” taken until the situation with COVID-19 in these regions stabilizes, writes The Wall Street Journal.
The company opened all retail outlets last month when the situation stabilized, but warned the public that things could still change.
“Due to the current situation with COVID-19 in some of the states in which we operate, we decided to temporarily close our stores. We are taking this step as a precautionary measure, and we continue to monitor the situation closely and hope that our employees will return to their seats as soon as possible,” said Apple in a statement.
Apple has more than 500 stores around the world. The company has previously reopened stores in several states, including Idaho, Southern California, Alabama, and Alaska.
