Amazon One is now available at Whole Foods, Panera, convenience stores, airport kiosks and other locations.
Amazon has expanded the functionality of its palm identification tool by introducing the ability to check the age of users. In the past, the company introduced Amazon One, an innovative method of paying for items without using cash or credit cards.
Amazon One is now available at Whole Foods, Panera, convenience stores, airport kiosks and other locations. However, you must still show proof of ID when buying alcohol.
Amazon has improved its Amazon One system by adding “age verification” functionality. Customers over 21 can now put their palms on the Amazon One device to purchase alcoholic beverages.
The new feature will be introduced at Coors Field in Colorado, the home arena of the MLB team’s Colorado Rockies. Registered Amazon One user can upload photos of the front and back of their ID and selfies to a special website. Once registration is complete, they can purchase alcoholic beverages simply by touching the palm of their hand to the scanner.
“Hearing from Amazon One customers across the country, we understand that they love the convenience it delivers: shorter wait times, quick access to buildings and locations, being able to link their loyalty memberships, and now an easy way to grab their beer,” Senior Director of Food Service Operations John McKay said.
